Legendary "Little Feat" Drummer, Richie Hayward needs our help. He has been diagnosed with Liver Cancer and in the coming year, he will have to undergo many costly treatments and eventually will need a Liver Transplant.
Richie's Illness has forced him to take an indefinite leave of absence from the band that has been such a huge part of his life for almost 40 years. As a consequence, he is receiving no income and he has no health insurance.
To help ease Richie's financial burden, SCV Blues was one of the sponsors for the Benefit Concert to help raise some much needed money for Richie's ongoing healthcare bills.

"SANTA CLARITA VALLEY BLUES FESTIVAL" Saturday, June 3rd at Central Park, Santa Clarita
On June 3rd, the Society hosted "The SCV Blues Festival"
in conjunction with the ACS "Relay For Life" at Central Park in Santa
Clarita. This was an all day event featuring eight of the top Blues
Bands in the Santa Clarita Valley.
Featured performers for the Festival were Michael
John & The Bottom Line, The Jeff Jensen Band, Forced Call, Toni
Dodd & Southbound Blues, The Moxie Blues Band, Boiler House Blues,
Mike Dill and Parker-Sabie.
Before and after "The Blues Festival", we also had some of our other members' bands perform. They include Nuttin' Cowboy, Weedeeter and Katee Gadette.
This incredible lineup was followed by a 4 hour "Acoustic Blues Jam".
We had an attendance of over 4,500 people and they witnessed the
incredible talent that exists on our own doorstep. John Parker, who
often performs for ACS events, was responsible for putting the entire
concert together by working as the Entertainment Chairman for the SCV
Relay.
Thanks to Chris Sabie, The SCV Blues Society was a
Bronze Sponsor for the Relay and had a booth right next to the stage.
We had a lot of interested Blues lovers stop by to check us out.
We
have had so many favorable comments regarding the festival and many
requests for more entertainment, that we are in the early planning
stages for "The Second Annual SCV Blues Festival" for 2007. Thanks to all of our bands that participated and our members who worked tirelessly in the hot summer sun. Our Society Rocks!
